IMPORTANT MESSAGE from Pastor Howard- JULY 2010
HAPPY 4th of July! Another opportunity for all of us to celebrate this great country that God has given us. I am so thankful that the Lord allowed me to be born in America where I have had the opporunity to learn of Him and to serve Him without fear of persecution or hinderance. We are truly blessed to be Americans. I've been to many different countries in numerous parts of the world and nothing compares to the good old USA.
America is not perfect and we certainly have deteiorated in the last 2 generations, but having said that, I still haven't seen anything close to what we have. America has been more compassionate and sent more help to the rest of the world than any other country. It has also sent more missionaries and more of the Word of God than probably all of the rest put together. This is why the enemy hates America and is doing his best to undermine its Godly foundation and destroy its Biblical principles.
All of our founding Fathers believed in God and reverenced His Word and most were actually committed Christians. Their beliefs are what helped form our Declaration of Independance, Constitution and our laws. Because we were established on the principles of God's Word, we have been blessed as the Word of God promised in Deut. 28. For two generations, those principles have been undermined and rejected and as a result, our country has lost some of the blessing. I don't want to dwell on that in this months letter. I've said a lot about that in previous letters.
I do want to take time to thank all of those who have served our country in the military both past and present. You are my heroes. I love sports and I pay close attention to great leaders, but my real heroes are those who served our country and put their lives at risk in some cases and on hold in all cases. Many who I will never meet on this side of Heaven paid the ultimate price and gave their lives that I might be free. I thank all of you and your families for the great sacrifices you gave.
As I think about how blessed I am, I am reminded that there are two individuals who gave their lives for me. The American Soldier gave his or her life that I might be free in the natural and Jesus gave His life that I might be free in the Spiritual. Obviously, the most important thing is that we be free from sin and make Heaven our home, but I don't minimize or take for granted at all what my beloved Americans have done for me. God bless and I love you all!
God bless you in His service,
Pastor Frank Howard
