IMPORTANT MESSAGE from Pastor Howard-MARCH 2010
Thank God we are through the worst part of the winter (I hope!!). Either way, spring is on the horizon and Easter is around the corner. Things are going to start coming back to life before the end of this month and I always take courage and delight in this time of the year. This winter has not been particularly difficult for those of us in Michigan. However, in other parts of the country, particularly in the south and out east, they have been hammered. Many folks are still without power in some of those areas as a result of the severe storms. God help and keep them!
My heart has been stirred in recent weeks to preach on the coming of the Lord and the signs of our Lords soon coming. In January, Haiti had a horrific earthquake that killed hundreds of thousands and just this past weekend, Chile had one that was 500 times more powerful than the one in Haiti! They are still digging out the survivors and the dead. God, please help those who are still alive in both places and send revival as a result of these tragedies!!! The only good news about Chile is that the area and geography was different enought that there probably won't be near as many casualities. Both are still great tragedies. Keep them in prayer.
Earthquakes is only one of many signs that point to the last days that Jesus talked about. In Matthew 24, Jesus lists a whole bunch of signs that point to His 2nd coming. A headline this past week read, "Is Nature out of Control?". The answer is, you haven't seen anything yet! Many prophecies have gone forth in recent months and even years that indicated that there would be many severe earthquakes in places where they normally don't occur. In the last two weeks, we have had an earthquake in Chicago, Ohio, and Oklahoma. Look for even more to come and some are going to be with great severity. What the devil means for evil, God will use to initiate great revival in those areas. There are great testimonies of souls being saved in Haiti and a revival breaking out there already. The tragedies to come, whatever they may be, will present great opportunities for the church to minister and preach Jesus to the lost and undone.
One other issue that has been on my heart is the need for Pastors and Ministers who are called by God to stand up an proclaim the truth with love. Our culture is a total wreck because we have failed as a group to preach the whole counsel of God. Many are afraid to preach against sin and to even preach on hell because they are afraid to lose people and be labeled hate mongers or legalist. We have given sin a pass and have upheld politicians who are corrupt and ungodly and as a result, our major cities are virtually war zones with 70% of the babies born out of wedlock and crime rates through the roof. Space dosen't permit going through all of the statistics, but any fool can see that our culture is off of the cliff when it comes to morality, abortion, drugs, etc., etc. Some of our most famous preachers have been asked if Jesus is the only way and they waffled and then they were asked if homosexuality was wrong and again they waffled. We need some men and women of God who will have a spine and be not afraid to say what Jesus and the Apostles and the Prophets said. The Salt has lost its savior and the light has gone out in many places. The Apostle Peter said that Judgment must begin at the House of the Lord and if the righteous scarcely be saved, what shall become of the ungodly and sinner? Most don't take the Word of God serious, but God does and is not slack concerning His promises or His threats!!!
If you go to a church where sin hasn't been preached against in many months and hell has not been mentioned either, you need to go to your Pastor and tell him or her that it is o.k. to do so and that you support them no matter what anyone else says or does. Encourage them and support them to preach the fullness of the counsel of God. If they refuse and continue to support being wishy washy and politically correct, find you another church where the blood won't be on the hands of those in leadership and those who support them. This sounds radical, but it is time for the church to come out of the closet and become the radicals that Jesus called us to be. If the people won't settle for wimpy Christianity anymore, maybe the leaders will get courageous and we'll have revival in America. Pray for God's fire to fall on the Pastors and Ministers in our land and lets see what God will do.
God bless you in His service,
Pastor Frank Howard
